an eye on all of that. thanks for being with us. i'm steve chenevey. >> and i'm allison seymour. happy tuesday. >> let's look at our forecast with tony perkins today. >> good morning to you and good morning, everybody. let's start with hd radar. we have been tracking some rain showers coming through the area. we have had a couple of areas of heavy rain. a little spot off to the south and east, just south of cambridge, maryland. meanwhile off to the north and west you see counties shaded in. those counties are under a severe thunderstorm warning until 7:30 this morning. it is not in the washington area, but well out to the west and northwestern washington county, northeastern hardy county, hampshire county, western portions of morgan county under a severe thunderstorm warning until 7:30. for us, a couple of light showers here and there. let's go to the graphics and we'll show you the satellite radar for this morning. you see the classic comma shape, the low moving through west virginia and into western portions of pennsylvania, eastern portions of high, dragging a whole lot of pr

morning news. stay with us. fox 5 morning news at 5:00 begins now. >>> good morning to you. don't know what you can see out there except just a few lights as cars headed into work or wherever they may be going on this tuesday morning. no ufos, i don't think. >> i'm gurvir dhindsa. >> i'm steve chenevey. >> let's say good morning to mr. perkins. >> a ufo would make the day interesting. >> it sure would. >> throw every other story out. >> the temperatures a little milder than it was this time yesterday. >> our temperatures are in the low 70s across portions of the viewing area and we do have some spots of rain including some spots of heavy rain. let's start with that. we'll start with hd radar and she you how things are shaping up early this morning. out to the with is, we are seeing heavy rainfall moving from the south to the north. leesburg, you are under it right now getting some heavy rain. and reston, out towards herndon, sooing some heavy rainfall. nothing in washington, tease right now. most points east are rain-free but there are some showers popping up here and there and we

with us here foe fox 5 morning news. it is a little wet out there. >> it sure is. we have some rain coming down pretty heavy in some areas. let's check in with tony perkins. >> we've got rainfall. some of the rain is heavy here and there. we are going to likely see rain continue during the course of the morning hours. we have a flash flood watch in effect until 8:00 this morning for most of the area because of that rain. lets astart with hd radar. we'll show hua is happening as we speak. now, not the entire area is seeing heavy rain. it is a band of rain moving from the south to the north. that is now coming through man as just to the west of reston, virginia, up into leesburg, near gaithersburg and this is pushing to the north-northeast. we'll keep our eyes on this through the course of the morning. one little anwr owe band of heavy rain but there are more rain showers off to the east in prince george's county, anne arundel county, places like that in the chesapeake bay. more run will be arriving in the course of the morning hours. let's go to the graphics. here is your big picture
